A quetion about wedding officiating

I have a friend who is a wedding officiator. He obtained an online ordination and can legally perform weddings. Which he does.
If he were to join the Mormon church could he retain his "ordained minister" status, for business purposes, and still be a member of the Mormon church?

If he tithes on his earnings, there probably isn't a problem with him keeping his business.

When my mother-in-law's husband died, she was married again at my home, by a Bishop.
