What a huge machine. Plenty of iron. has anybody calculated the energy efficiency of such a machine?

Steam engines are notoriously inefficient. Most of that heat is wasted.

Jealous! :-) :-) :-) I've only had the chance to run tiny little 0-4-0 #1 at the Fillmore & Western. But there's nothing quite like moving that throttle and feeling that smooth movement as the locomotive starts to roll.
