Over the last few months I was caught up in posting things that had no relevance To recovery.
I will now try to only post things that are revelant to recovery.
So be a little patient and everything will be allright.

You've gone where no Mormon General Authority will ever go!

Don't be too hard on yourself.

OT is allowed here. In moderation.

Everybody's in their own space and sometimes it's OK to think of yourself more than others but hopefully things swing the other way sometimes too.

Plus with the once-in-a-lifetime (hopefully once) pandemic we're experiencing it kind of took up all the oxygen in the room. A lot of that was, by definition, off topic for Recovery from Mormonism yet was kindly permitted by Admin even if we OD'd on it for a time. I looked at it as a way of supporting each other through a crisis and mutual support is a big part of RfM.

"Plus with the once-in-a-lifetime (hopefully once) pandemic we're experiencing..."

We would be extremely lucky if the frequency of these things isn't ramping up with world population growth, overcrowding, increase in economic disparity between haves and have nots.

We are taking human congestion from the 19th Century and spreading it out across the world. The response from the natural world is to exploit these conditions that aren't natural.

In the book A Brave New World they quarantined the "savages" and shipped the troublemakers off to an island. They protected and controlled everyone in "civilization" with science.

I could see this happening because humans won't stop their trajectory and neither will nature.

That makes a lot of sense.

No, that would be "Oh God." There are many threads on that.

I think we are all trying to process what has been happening over the past few months. It is heedless, uncaring destruction on a massive scale. We study in history class things like the bubonic plague of the middle ages, which wiped out a quarter of Europe's population, and we think it can't happen again. It can. It most definitely can.

The hardest thing for me is to know that our only way out is through science, and the scientific process, and to see that so massively disrespected in our "advanced" culture. As a teacher, it hits close to home. It feels like a failure of education. For teachers, it ends up feeling like a personal failure.

In Baltimore yesterday, a 15 year old girl died of complications related to Covid. Fifteen, and in otherwise splendid health. She died of the multisystem failure (MIS-C) that has happened with some children who are CV-19 positive. If you had told her mom back in January, by May your healthy, beautiful, precious daughter will be dead of a raging disease, it would have seemed inconceivable.

And that nasty, insidious disease still lurks, and could take out any one of us, or any one of our loved ones.

I just ask that people not be flippant about it. What you play with today could quite easily fell you tomorrow.

“What you play with today could quite easily fell you tomorrow.”

That’s what the church keeps saying, especially now with online porn.

Desertrat1, you don't need to apologize for anything.

It's hard to trust any information from any source after Mormonism had it's way with us.

In this whole disease disaster, we need to decide for ourselves what we are going to do, for our own good and the good of others.

There are aspects of the whole thing that make it look like a scam. And all of us here have been scammed before. I had to decide who to trust amid often chaotic data. I'm fairly safe in knowing that scientists are getting their information from staring into a microscope rather than staring at a rock in a hat. So for me, since it's not just me whom I take care of --it's DH as well, I chose to trust health professionals.

Your opinions are no less worthy of posting than anyone else's. I hope Admin agrees with me.

Please stay well, our fellow traveller.

Thedesertrat. Kathleen is right. No need for "apologys."

Was reading the diary of a writer who lives in down town Wuhan--you know, the place where nothing started---and she had an online diary from day one that is now an e book even though the Chinese Nationalists tried to stop her cuz she was ruining the Wuhan reputation of a great vacation destination.

One thing she said was, "My daughter once asked her 99year old grandfather his secret to a long life. His response: 'Eat a lot of fatty meat, don't exercise and be sure to sure to curse out anyone who deserves it.'"

You do provide us that target sometimes for that purpose so I thank you. As Fang Fang said, "We are all aching for the opportunity to really let someone have it."

Somebody has to be the Yang. right?

Now I've got to get back to skinning that bat.

I guess do that if you want a lot of time to work on cursing.

Like the song from Tears for Fears,"Shout shout let it all out these are the things I could do without, come on, I'm talking to you come on." Don't sweat it, you're good.
