One of the great British icons of WW2. I remember going to see her perform when I was about 11 or 12.

While I wasn't a fan of that style of music, I still manage to have a lot of respect for this woman who gave tirelessly of herself to entertain and give comfort to others. May she rest in peace.

When you get to be known in Britain as "our Vera" you have reached the pinnacle.

I’m In my 60s, so Vera Lynn was well known during my growing up years. “We’ll Meet Again” and “White Cliffs of Dover” are very familiar songs for me.

When I was teaching school, we would hold a ceremony every year to mark Remembrance Day in Canada. We had a music teacher for a few years who taught all of the classes “We’ll Meet Again” and the ceremony would close with all of the kids singing it together. The gym would be filled with their voices and it never failed to choke me up.

Heard her music from when I was a toddler. My Scottish mom loved her songs.
