We can't handle the facts!

Facts are supposedly what the news prints.

Yet they are always printing with people never coming to a knowledge of the truth. Those would be what people called back in ancient history op-ed or opinion pieces.

Now facts are anything someone wants to justify their point with. As long as a media outlet can reaffirm people are right, they will look no further for the truth. (Mormonism our great examplar)

No one has a clue what facts are anymore. Institutional incompetence is a perfect case study in this. Supposedly the best and the brightest with all the facts that were readily available (they have a lot more access than we do) are still not able to help our country out from its slow but now speedy decline into barbarism.

We may think we are wise as but we are no more knowledgeable than the Romans, the Greeks, the Brits, even the Anti Banking Society.

It goes without saying that you folks in the former colonies are no more knowledgeable than the Brits, but when I first read your final sentence, I read it as anti Baking Society, and I had to wonder what bakers had done to upset enough people that they got together and formed such a society.
