I don't even want to go to the store to get pie and beer.

That's a smart choice to avoid the store, although a mild barley beverage would certainly please gawd (D&C 89:17).

At one time, this was a big day. But not so much anymore especially with Bishop Covid roaming the streets.

Another opportunity for Utah Yeehaws to set the state afire with the irresponsible use of fireworks!

“Bishop CoVid” and “Utah Yeehaws.” Haha.
No wonder I love this place. :D

If there were no pandemic, it would be a typical work Friday outside of Utah. It's also Tequila Day, so I may just focus on that instead.

Having lived in Utah for a few months, I can feel the loss anxiety from here (Sequim, Washington)

Or is that a different parade?

May this year be the year that ends that handcart crap.

To the best of my knowledge all 24th July celebrations were cancelled just as most 4 July events were cancelled.

Sadly many founders day events were cancelled as well. I was looking forward to having my whole family gathered for the carnival rides and games, afternoon cook out and fire works. This year we're all staying home. Maybe next year.

I just got home from Safeway. Way too many morons wearing masks over their mouths but not over their noses.

Funny that no one notices that this was Mexico in 1847. An invasion.

Yup. War with Mexico April 1846 to Feb 1848. So technically Brigham claimed a huge swath of territory as the state of Deseret from the Mexicans.

Mormons have a history of parading themselves in front of themselves-

The Kingdom of Georgia and the Russian Empire sign the Treaty of Georgievsk in 1783 on this day in history.

It proves how multi-cultural Utah mormons are.
