oh really?

http://www.thejewishweek.com/editorial_opinion/gary_rosenblatt/mormons_jews_new_pact_baptisms
"
the Mormon Church will allow Jewish Holocaust victims to be the only category exempt from Church doctrine that calls for vicarious baptism for the dead, giving souls the choice to enter the Kingdom of God
"

a modern day blacks/priesthood and polygamy/monogamy example =)

What about other Jews from earlier? Is TSCC still going to go after them anyway?

I wrote the author of the article a note and let him know that the practice of necro-baptism goes on to this day. When he asked me where he could find out more, I recommended he come here and ask (since those here would have more knowledge than I) and that he should check the Mormon genealogical database.

Changes in temple ceremony no longer requiring obedience of wife to husband after the woman's movement gained success in the world is another example of God giving in to social pressure.

Plus the other changes to the temple ceremony:

No more death oaths and elimination of the portrayal of the Christian minister as a servant of satan.

All done as the result of a survey.

If the pressure and sacrifice is focused most intensely upon the ordinary poor and middle class members of the Church, there will be no change. God is no respecter of persons. The will of God, as revealed through his prophets is eternal and unchanging. The way is straight and narrow and only those who submit to the path laid out for them will be found worthy.

If the pressure, sacrifice and scorn is focused most intensely upon the leaders of the Church and the wealthy elite and/or hits the foregoing economically, well, hey, that's what "continuing revelation" is all about, isn't it? No need for anyone to get all worked up about flecks of history, right. Those things are behind us or being put behind us real fast. See that little speck in the rearview mirror? That's how far behind us {that policy/that doctrine} already is!
