I don't know about AZ but I know it has in some places in UT. My adult children were raving last Sunday about being back to church in their ward buildings. And in Idaho yesterday there was a funeral held for a family member with NO social distancing and only about 3 people in the whole congregation wearing a mask. I watched it live streamed which I did appreciate. I fear it will be a super spreader event for sure. People speaking, sniffling and wiping their nose, touching the podium and microphone...no wiping of anything down between speakers, 3 songs...one by a group of grandkids, one by the congregation and one by a soloist. She really belted it out, too. Everyone just carried on as if it were 2019. Stay tuned.
regarding the crowded funeral saga...I just found out one person in the family is being tested for the virus after having symptoms on Friday. He ended up not going to the funeral but all the rest of his family was in attendance. Yikes.
It sounds like the local leadership has a lot to say about it. For my wife, masks were required. My son said his ward did not require masks. The distancing requirements were roughly the same. In my wife's ward, members had to confirm that the were going to attend, but my son's ward just arrived at their assigned time.
