"Ancient humans had a habit of not limiting themselves to their own species for sex."

I liked this sentence. We moderns probably don't like to look into the mirror of the past too closely. We are one strange species.

Mormons & non-mormons?

What defines the difference between a species and a race? If these early three species interbred and had fertile offspring, then they appear to be the same species, divided only by race.

I have always understood that neandrithals were larger and stronger than homosapians, while the homosapians were more intelligent. I don't know if that is true or not.

If the other two species died off, was it speciesism (like racism) and war that killed them, or were the other two species unable to compete for food?

Specification or whatever they call it is tough and I see a lot of inconsistency, such that if, say, different human ethnicities were treated like every other animal, groups like the Amish, Basques, what have you would be different sub-species of the larger species, H. "sapiens."

There's a lot we don't know so I think the old ideas of Neanderthal's primitivity came from limited excavations. We've since found that the N'thalers buried their dead with artifacts, indicating some advanced social coordination and beliefs.

Of course, the reason we call it the "stone age" is not because the only thing they ever used was stone, but because stone is the only thing that survives the ravages of time. Like many indigenous tribes even today, it's likely they used wood, leather, etc. but such items deteriorate quickly in wet climates.

Good points. Also, it turns out that Neanderthaler were not as bad-looking as we have been making them appear. Also, they had bigger brains, but it turns out that that doesn't necessarily mean what we think it means. (Squirrels have much smaller brains than cats, but are remarkably more intelligent; squirrels probably challenge dogs' mental capacities, too. And having said that, my cat is pretty smart.)

Neanderthals lived in a world where more body strength was required to lie in wait, pounce on, and wrestle with their food -- just like lions or sabretooth cats.

Modern humans evolved to chase after and run down their food on open plains like cheetahs.

It's enough to make bisexuality seem boring, no?

Right. Imagine living in a world where interspecies sex is happening and producing offspring. Positively biogigological.

Occasionally I hear news reports of guys getting their willy stuck in a vacuum cleaner or an exhaust pipe.

So, yeah, dudes will stick it in anything. Now where did I put that apple pie?

It's as if the general rule was "Orgasms are really nice and we should have them as often as we can, in whatever way we can." Then spoilsports invented rules.

I wonder why ghawd apparently never mentioned to Adam and Eve that their kids couldn't 'do' each other without being married?

And is no one is married, can adultery exist?

As Louis Leakey once declared, "You gotta lot of 'splaining to do, Lucy!"

Adulteries is only a Celestial Glory possibility. Telestial Glory doesn't have marriage or adultery. Joe found how to have the best of both glories in the highest Celestial Glory.

We are all hybrids.
Even Africans are interbred with Neanderthals and the 16 other sub-species of humans (Homos) who coexisted in Africa before Neanderthals wandered off continent to Eurasia, along with many other humans, Denisovans, Heidelbergensis, Cro Magnon, Homo Erectus.
And they all interbred and melyed into one big pot that is our diverse family of man.
More diversity inside of Africa than the rest of the world.

We are all humans. Your fixation with our DNA difference is something to behold.

We might have replaced the original Neanderthal mDNA.

We aren't hybrids but descendants of them. But you specifically might be like a mule.

do another tap danc on my brain!!
One of my favorite "harp ons" is the Book of Enki. The 5th and 6th tablets clearly describe a being that could easily be neanderthal being genetically modified to create Homo-sapien. Now whether or not you accept this it is still interesting to me how this "could be" an explaination. Don't chew me up just think about it.
