i am so disappointed and feel this is the worst conference ever, not to mention boring. considering all that is going on they are not telling us anything because they don't know anything. i think the whole thing was pre-recorded.
Regardles of whether you agree on disagree there were a large number of thought provocking ideas put forth Mostly I saw fear. The "get a recomend" talk was a hidden bid for the pay part of pay pray obey. No I did not agree with most of the proposals put forth but we can better understand the concern that is prevalent in SLC over the exodus from the religion. I listened to the talks because I wanted to get perspective on what the thinking is among the LDS leadership. They are worried and I mean WORRIED over the number of members no longer associating eith the religion.

The mormon brand sucks. Yes we agree!

What gave you this impression? What did they say? Is tithing down? Fewer people trickling back to meetings? (now that they see how great Sunday mornings at home can be, not to mention free evenings through the week).
Like they would ever admit that tithing or membership was down.
I think it will be a couple of years before we can assess the fallout of LDS Inc being effectively shut down for 2020, but I also think they are well beyond WORRIED. They are in PANIC mode. They know this cannot be helping their cause, and it was already showing stress fractures (see for example: Rescue, Swedish)
Luckily my folks were inactive until I was about 12. Then conference played on the radio for days at a time. Easy to ignore. Go to my room and read science fiction.
I did attend a session once with my older sister. I preferred to go to the Tabernacle for Youth Symphonies with Maurice Abravanel. He was great, and far more spiritual.
Then one day I was an adult and conference meant a weekend of doing fun stuff without feeling guilty.
I read accounts of conference here and I always wonder: Are Exmos the only ones listening?
