A friend travels around the country, taking note of unusual things, like roadside attractions. He wrote this about Robinson Scenic Gardens in Mancelona, Michigan:
"A strange grouping of fiberglass animals, cartoon characters, and storybook figures serve to attract travelers to this concrete statuary business. The original owners of the business also made a garden with Biblical scenes which is now closed due to deterioration."
(The original owners had named the place Good Shepherd Scenic Gardens.)
I suppose the public showed which it preferred. Maybe the Good Shepherd section had too much Catholic-style bleeding, suffering Jesus that scared the little kids.
