Is it not church doctrine that it is better to die than lose your virtue?
Are not missionaries told it is better to die than come home in disgrace?
Are not members told it is more important to pay tithing than have medicine?
How many parents willingly subject their innocent children to abusive constant worthiness interviews that lead to shaming and loss of self worth that leads all too many children to taking their own lives?
Need we say more about the low value the church puts on human life?

Ha. Your post reminded me of this exchange in Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'.
It's the same type of attitude that some Mormon leaders have, I've observed.
