Latter day means "lately" not stupidly the "end times" like maybe a death obsessed cult might automatically support.

Psshhhh.. Is it in the water or cast into the DNA or something?

I was just about to say this. The words "latter-day" were chosen to distinguish the modern members from the earlier set of Saints, as in the time of Jesus and the apostles. But in their never-ending quest to look important, the Mormons quickly decided that they were also the last set of Saints before the End Times.

Yes. And every day going forward is latter than the last.

The mormons have been preaching end of times for 180 years and it hasn't happened yet. So they must be using an extension latter.

Thank you, thank you--I'll be here all week.

Yep, we were coming to the end in the '50s, and more so in the '60s. Remember Cleon Skousen and Duane Crowther? And here I am 50 years later and none of those predicted things happened. But wait, is it happening now?

I do remember in Skousen's book that he predicted that at the final judgment (I think) our entire lives would be projected onto a large screen and every little secret would be shown and we would be judged. Wait! Maybe he was right, except now it's a tiny little screen and it will be shown over and over on YouTube.

I remember in the early 60s a couple of my girlfriends said they hoped to be engaged by the time the Millennium came, just to feel sure they'd be safe in the future. Well, if they did marry and stayed married, they would soon celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

While many worried nuclear bombs would bring an end to the human race, none of us worried that it would be gasoline powered engines that brought it about. "Not with a bang, but with a whimper."

Their money says no.

- 99-year leases for City Creek condos.

- Planning their Florida city through the year 2080.

- $120B+ in the Smaug Reserve Inc. hoard, as if Jesus plans to use U.S. Federal Reserve notes in the millennium. "Great-grandpa, who's Andrew Jackson? Was he a prophet?"

And Boyd P said (2011?) that current mormons' grandkids would be around ere Jesus hied from Kolob.

Still, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Whatever-day Saints" doesn't quite have that tithing-ready sound to it, does it?

Amend to "The Church of Jesus Christ of It-doesn't-matter-day Saints."

Exactly. They invest as if the end of the world won't come for decades or centuries.

It was a good response to the “Now what?” that occurred in 2000 when Jesus didn’t show up.

Hard-pressed, they will say that these investments will survive the Millenium... The Lard will burn non-tithe payers, but will protect His property.

Same for the dozen temples that they keep building... According to them, these sacred (secret) buildings will be baptizing/endowing/sealing dead people 24/7 all through the Milleninum.

Yeah right.
