Churches will be allowed 15% of fire code capacity until further notice. Bars and casinos closed. Restaurants back to pick up or take out...and my first alone Christmas. Be safe folks.

I guess they've been letting too many Americans come over the border to spread disease.

catnip's words, but my sentiments too. Please stay safe!

We in southern California are now in enhanced lockdown, which I got caught up in tonight. New lockdown rules include: "No sitting down in the mall." This is a new rule, because until a few days ago, people were able to sit down (assuming they could get, or create, a seat). The food court has been taped off since the beginnings of the covid lockdown, and it required a bit of creativity to find a place where someone could actually sit down (for any reason).

[Restaurants and food kiosks went takeout only some weeks back, and according to city and county regulations, no one is supposed to be eating or drinking ANYTHING, even a single French fry from the potato kiosk, or pretzel from the pretzel kiosk, when inside the mall.]

Security explained to me that they want everyone to keep constantly in motion when outside the individual stores, because keeping in motion is safer for everyone than staying in one place is.

Please do stay safe, Ron.

You are an important part of this board.

Also in southern California, and even got the emergency alert about the modified lockdown. It hasn't really changed anything for me since I've been home since March, and not expected to return to work until January at the earliest. Since I can't do my job from home, I'll be among the first to return as everyone else will be working from home until most get the vaccine.

I've been doing more of my Christmas shopping online, and even when I go into a store, I check that store's website first so I know what I'm getting before I walk in the door. I do get takeout only because I want to keep local restaurants in business during this since they can't do outdoor dining for at least 3 weeks.

Thinking of you, LR. Our numbers here in BC have been climbing too but schools, shops and restaurants remain open, with masks mandated except in schools. All places of worship are closed but a few Christian churches are defying the public health order and are being fined for it.

Stay safe, everybody. Soon be over we can hope.

I am staying safe, thank you Nightingale. Looks like it's gonna be a solo Christmas, my first ever.

I live in Alberta too. We had a world wide fast and things got worst but not too bad. We had a second world wide fast and things got worst here in Canada and more restrictions here in Alberta too. Then on Sunday we had the prophet bless us and now we are going to be in a tight lock down mode.
So 15% church capacity. My ward is a stake center so full church attendance could be had. But then we already had Church cancelled last week as we had a speader event the previous week with several members testing positive. The email said they spent more than 15 minutes in close contact. Bottom line come to Church no speaking, wear masks and leave. I went to a couple of SM and they are lifeless no matter what the Bishop says and how the spirit is there.
I have come to the conclusion that things are going to run their course and that Rusty and the gang have very little power to do anything except say words.
I was told that Raymond Alberta is hot spot for church members being tested positive.

I’m also in Alberta. My husband and I will be on our own this year for Christmas, but hopefully we will FaceTime with the kids and grandkids throughout the day.

I wish this lockdown had been instituted a month ago, just as our cases started increasing so much. Those in charge don’t always listen to the people on the front line unfortunately.

Raymond is a maskless shithole. I wonder if the TBM physicians there believe the virus is real?

Merry Christmas I hope. I've watched Home Alone again this year. Maybe dance on your bed?

Make sure that you decorate your home, Ron. I think it will make you feel better. And plan a special meal or meals for yourself over the holiday.

Things are tightening in the mid-Atlantic as well. Baltimore's new, young mayor is closing restaurants and bars except for takeout. Everyone here wears a mask, but the numbers are still scary.

We just need to make it through to the vaccine. Stay safe, everyone.

I have always been alone for Christmas. I do not decorate, it brings on extreme depression knowing everyone else has family and support. I always plan a huge project like painting several rooms, emptying all my cupboards and washing them out, going thru medicine cabinet for bad exploration dates, etc. the day goes by fast I not having time to be sad is the only way I survive.

Find what makes you feel better and do it. You can always post here.
