2 Nephi 7-8 are copied from Isaiah 50-51.
2 Nephi 12-24 are copied from Isaiah 2-14.
3 Nephi 12-14 are copied from Matthew 5-7 (the Sermon on the Mount).
1 Nephi 3:7 is a paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 10:13
Joseph Smiths First Vision account is a paraphrase of Acts 26:13.

He was a copier, never good with anything original or real.

He saw in a rock what he thought people would see - and hopefully believe - in a book [fiction, not even close to fact, truth, or history], slash, religion.

It's so CLEARLY made up, especially once you know the character of orgin: dreamy, sidetracked, untrustworthy, conniving, wasteful, oxymoronic...

He was looking for fanny, fame, fortune- not believably, honor, decency...

Mormons can't see this, or choose to ignore it.

It's one of my favorite things. Nothing against fanfiction writers but it does conjure the image and association of JS being a hormonal teenager writing poorly his self inserts interacting with his fav Biblical characters. Nephi is literally a Gary Stu and JS's self-insert character. XD
