Brigham Young supposedly stated Moroni himself dedicated the site for the Manti, Utah Temple.
While he was wandering around what would later become Utah - why didn't he go a bit North and dedicate the site of the Salt Lake Temple?
As he was traveling East towards the big battle site why not dedicate the site of the Independence, Missouri Temple? After all - that is the one where Jesus will come to on his return for the big $124 Billion party, right?
A whole bunch of locations he could have dedicated.
Or, maybe he did but the Church Presidents after Brigham Young can't figure out how to get inspiration so they know where these places are?
I’m pretty sure that after he did his incantations in Manti, he went back to Sala and took I-70 East. Too much construction on Hwy 6 and in Utah Valley.

Wasn't a gambling haven then. Just another Phoenix with fewer old people.
According to some faithful mormons, Moroni did go to the Salt Lake area (and Arizona) during his lonely post-Cumorah wanderings. Check out this Michael Ash -endorsed map drawn by some old guy who knew Joseph Smith back in the day.
This BYU professor's article mentions not only Manti, but also "Moroni dedicating the Temple site of what we now call St. George, Nauvoo, Jackson Co., Kirtland, and others we know not of as yet."
Because he never really existed. Moroni is just a figment of Joseph Smith's imagination. Why didn't Santa Claus dedicate the Salt Lake temple site also?
