There just aren't enough people who even know about the movie, are there? Yes, I too warm up to people who know the movie or the book. We watch Cold Comfort at least once a year. Even though I know all the lines now, I still laugh until I hurt. Every character is perfect. My daughter even made me a decorative plaque that says, "There'll be no butter in hell!!" Everyone asks me what's that about.
Also, that's one of my favorite parts of the movie: "Ye miserable, crawlin'worms. Are ye here again then? Have ye come like Nimshi, son of Rehoboam, secretly out of your doomed houses, to hear what's comin' to ye? ... Ye've come, dozens o' ye, like rats to the granary, like field mice when there's harvest home. And what good will it do ye?! You're all damned! DAMNED!!"
I'm short on dollar-denominated currency here amongst on Palawan, but I presume you'll accept forty centavos? After all, that other broad got away with a couple of parasitic mites.
I do confess. I had originally written "amongst the cultural Marxists on Mindanao" but decided to avoid giving attention to He Whose Name Changes with the Wind. Instead, I opted for "here on Palawan," an island with very few Marxists of any stripe.
If you wanted to visit an island, however, I would meet you on Crete and describe my life amongst the. . . you know!
