Once in awhile I get bored and think of the many strange things that are Mormon! Never understood what the planet kolob was supposed to be or represent? As they don’t really teach too much about it in their church. Any insights?

Spelled in reverse, that fiction of a planet is close to bollocks.

Similar to Scientology's volcano yarn.

Kolob is the closest planet/star to the throne of God. Joseph refered to is as both a planet and a star.

It is a celestial sphere hence it is a sea of flame and glass.

1965..I changed high schools for grade 12 and my dad thought I should take seminary as my plan was to go to Ricks. 2 weeks in the uber TBM teacher mentioned Kolob and put up my hand and questioned him on it and told him I thought it was BS. Pissed him off royally to have his teaching challenged...and began my path out of the church. 2 semesters in the SE Idaho Gulag put paid to the whole thing

I tend to suppress things that bother me and this was a big one.

To me, this demonstrates the random nature of Joe's 'revelations'; "knowing" or even just plain thinking - believing that such a place exists serves NO Useful purpose, and now the whole BoA has boomeranged on ChurchCo...



I'm withholding further judgement - comments until - unless someone decides if it's Planet or a Star...
