Dementia?

A personally written postcard how my mother family miss her so much..

They both are in the age range 73-75

It could be dementia, or it could possibly be a "minor" stroke which affected a more "major" brain location.

Either way, it probably means some kind of brain function impairment.

I am sorry for her. Losing brain function can be very sad because the person most directly affected often cannot understand what is happening.

Did some research after your advice and it seems to be lots of odd and anti social behaviour that follows. Mixing up facts and situations for example.

So it seems to be spot on what you write Tevai.

There's a late octogenarian member of my mother's ward who sends her cards for pretty much every holiday.

We're pretty sure she's confused my mother with a younger sister with our last name, since she congratulated my mother last year on having a son currently out on his mission, but none of my siblings is under 40.

I checked with the local Relief Society president, but she didn't think this sister meant badly by it, and correcting her wasn't likely to improve the situation. So, as long as it's not a financial burden, we just let her continue with the cards.

The weird thing was that it happened after they had talked for about twenty minutes on telephone.

I was present in the room and my feeling was that there was a sinister intention in the act.

What I know her husband is terminally ill and it can be some kind of sick ”hot potato” act. But still it can be influenced by dementia.

one of her friends sent letters confiding her fears and loneliness. I wrote back.

These letters are some of the hardest to throw out.

You might want to contact that woman's children about your concerns.

I just learned that a neighbor of mine, aged 70, has been diagnosed with dementia. I did not notice the signs, because I just see her every now and then, but her family did. She is now unable to drive, and to do daily tasks such as paying bills.

Woman keep showing up. Sitting in the car waiting outside the house looking at the garden.

A couple of weeks ago she brought gifts.

No clue what is going on.

Feel like a life long peoples pleaser gone insane.

We can't help 'em

We don't even know who they are

We even forget who you are

Maybe the flowers are dead
