Hear an interesting interview with Derrick Johnson, NAACP President, about the evolving partnership with a white supremacist CULT that still has yet to apologize for barring Blacks from entering its temples, based solely upon the color of their skin, which is still considered 'cursed by God' in MORmON scriptures, which are the most racist scriptures on planet Earth.

He claims he is aware of their racist past, but never mentions the fact that it is still a racist institution, that has institutionalized racism in America and around the world, by continuing to print and distribute the thoroughly debunked 19th Century racist myths as 'The canonized Word of God'.

When asked if he thinks that the church should apologize for their racist past, he says he's not in a position to tell the church what to do, but that it's up to the members of the church to put pressure on the church to make change. (So, don't hold your breath.)

The problem is the racism isn't past it's in the present and ongoing. Taking $10 million from a racist institution, just legitimizes the institution of racism.

He sold the soul of the NAACP for $10 million in filthy lucre.

But hey, what the hell, $10 million is $10 million, who cares about the fact they worship a racist God?

The mormon church is racist because there is clearly racist bull-crappery in both its written and performed history, what with all the pre-1978 "How Pure We Are, White Pride; 'I was better than you in the Pre-Existence!'"

Yeah, I get that the refusal on the part of The Big 15 to apologize is a real bone in the throat of the American Banquet of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of filthy lucre (aka, Happiness).

But does this taint the street-level membership that was born after 1978 and isn't racist? Are today's missionaries automatically racist because The Big 15 are myopic butt-holes? Can ignorance be a defense?

My next door neighbor is Mormon and a great guy. Mormons make great neighbors. Just not great drinking buddies or people you want to go get coffee with. Wonder too if - with their finger in the air and calculating changing political winds - they're attempting to shift opinions of policy crafters at the national level. Just wild speculation. Or perhaps they are intent on avoiding some looming iceberg

The Mormon church does not give ten million to anyone without expectation of some return. Case in point from the past was the visit of the then mayor of Jerusalem after the church made a sizeable donation to the construction of the Washington holocaust museum. Shortly after opposition to the building of the BYU study center on the Mount of Olives ceased.

I gave a deposition in a case where the victims (childhood friends in my LDS scout troop)were awarded an even larger sum, but were silenced by an NDA.

But my best friend and neighbor growing up had Attorneys fly out to WA and coerce him into silence. His own fucking parents turned on him and his brother and threatened them with excommunication if he participated in the lawsuit.
He didn’t take part and his Brother did and the parents are still not speaking to that, very wealthy son.
The other son is still Mormon but his kids are not and they read this forum.
