So all of us Heathens who have cook outs and fireworks planned for the Sabbath, laughing at the mormons who celebrated early, have had our plans dashed as god has sent moisture to ruinour evening.
BUT the neighbors (all mormon including the bishop) celebrated Sunday and Monday, especially with a lot of loud fireworks, and debris left all over my yard. I'm an old non-celebrator. I put out the flag, etc., but I HATE summer. Last time I celebrated the 4th I believe was when I was pregnant with twins. My husband made me HIKE down to Hyrum Dam rather than pay the $2 for parking and sit in the heat for a few hours so he could play in the water.
Kind of ruined the whole idea for me.
When I was young, my dad's family always celebrated the 4th on the 4th. They were mormon, but weren't against celebrating anything on a Sunday.
Everyone here is blaming the clouds and rain on me. See, I got some new eyepieces and camera equipment for my telescope, and haven't seen the sky since...
