I'm sure most of us recall as TBMs reading about the many marvelous miracles found within the scriptures, and wondering why such great works of faith were no longer performed in the church. After all, we had the priesthood, the authority to act in god's name, the same priesthood held by the prophets in the bible and the BOM.

We were told stories of miraculous healings by early church leaders, but long ago and only from second- or third-hand sources. However, we now have a first-person account of a truly wondrous event, a resurrection no less (and not "too sacred to share"), given under the hand of a current member of the First Presidency of the Seventy. Surely The Spirit™ shines within Bob Gay.

"Years ago, as a college sophomore, I was studying for final exams in an apartment by myself. It was a warm day, and as I was reviewing my papers, a gnat started buzzing in front of my face. The persistence of the gnat began to really annoy me. Finally, I had enough. I raised my hands and slapped them together and killed the gnat. I cannot explain to this day what happened next: I looked down at the dead gnat in the palm of my hand and felt great compassion. I said to myself, 'That gnat did not need to die.
