I just watched some footage of the lava flow creeping along.

As a missionary, did you ever expect that volcano to erupt?

It must be heartbreaking for you to see that area so devastated.

I and my sibs grew up at the base of a volcano. I was ALWAYS terrified.

Glad folks from your mission place were evacuated. Have you kept in touch with people you knew?

I thought it would be awesome back then but I was young and dumb. They are a volcanic archipelago so I guess I thought it was inevitable.

I have on Facebook. It is interesting how much more "live and let live" my member friends from The Canary Islands are then some Americans I interact with there.
