Dr Christine Marie is a survivor, activist, cult expert, sex-trafficking/trauma specialist, author and speaker. Does anyone know the whole story of Dr. Christine's connection to Keith Raniere? Apparently she dated him for a time. Dr. Christine later claims to have been sex-trafficked by a different man whom she calls "Adam", that she met at an LDS singles dance.

Hers is a bizarre story. She claims that the "Adam" told her he had translated the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon and claimed to be a prophet. She believed him, gave up her children, sold all her property to help him in his mission. He ultimately sent her to live in some squalid place, and while he was in jail, sent cellmates to have sex with her.

It seems strange that she would meet TWO different men who both claimed to be prophets/and or led cults and both involved in sex-trafficking. Could Keith actually be "Adam"?

Dr Christine has remarried and now lives in "Shortcreek" where she assists FLDS women.

Raniere, a self improvement guru, originator of "NXIVM", had sex slaves branded with his initials. He has been convicted and sentenced to 120 years in prison. It seems he also had a connection to the LeBaron colony in Mexico that was attacked in 2019.

The whole thing is just weird.

Sex - sexuality, abuse of women, mixed in with 'religion'?
Please tell me it ain't so!

The article, written in 2001, actually quotes Keith Raniere, calling him "Marie's friend".

Twenty years later he's in prison for 120 years.
OMG!

Once one accepts the illogical, nonsense of Mormonism, one is at the mercy of any number of con artists.

Dr. Christine gets herself mixed up with two spectacular charlatans. Now she works as a life coach? Good lord!!!

They are more than just charlatans. People that high on the Dark Triad scale are rare and she got hooked up with two? I read through her site, it looks like she is still working through a lot of her own issues. Her current husband seems very... interesting as well. Interesting about the tie to what happened in Mexico. I will see if I can find any more info.

Churches are perfect feeding grounds for predators because nobody is guarding the henhouse. 1% of the general population is psychopathic. They would be concentrated in the churches. Especially now that normies are staying away. I wouldn't take my kids to such a place. It really is time for organized religion to die.

Christine Marie is now deeply involved with (at least) her THIRD charismatic cult leader. Sam Bateman. She has been encouraging girls and women to join him, and he is just following in the footsteps of Warren Jeffs. Has multiple very young girls "married" to him and is having babies with them!

Christine is a wolf in sheep's clothing. I used to know her quite well - back when she was a fierce advocate for PROTECTING girls and women from patriarchal polygamy. Before she realized she could get more money, attention and screen time by flipping over to the pro-polygamy side.

In researching I came across both this site and an exemormon reddit site. According to the exemormon reddit site, Christine Marie's involvement with the aforementioned Bateman was part of a conscious take down (not her being hooked in) https://www.reddit.com/r/exmormon/comments/zfhszv/lets_celebrate_the_good_ones_dr_christine_marie/

But that's not the source says.

"Let's celebrate the good ones! Dr. Christine Marie converted to Mormonism as a teen, was coerced by a false prophet into a cult-of-one and trafficked, escaped, and now is a cult/trauma expert and advocate. Her exmo daughter co-hosts the Trust Me podcast, which is excellent."

That describes three different stages of her development.

1) Converted to Mormonism,

2) "Was coerced by a false prophet into a cult-of-one and trafficked."

3) Escaped from said cult and became "a cult/trauma expert and advocate."

In other words, she did not intentionally infiltrate the Bateman cult but was "coerced/"converted to it.

She may well subsequently have used her experiences in both cults to become an expert and help others, but you can't read the third stage into the second. Nor can you infer that she willingly accepted being "trafficked."

At least not from that account.

Well, the second stage "Was coerced by a false prophet into a cult-of-one and trafficked." may relate to her time with "Adam" (Chris Nemelka).

See from the OP

"He sent her to live in an apartment among five men and three women in a dangerous part of town where she was beaten and raped repeatedly, all in the name of serving God"

I have no idea about the claim that the relationship with Bateman was a deliberate takedown.

Thanks for alerting me to the uncertainty. I guess it's hard to keep the cults separate for this woman.

What an unfortunate life.

I don't remember all of Emily Pearson's story, but she got sucked into some situation after her divorce from her gay husband (she married someone gay as she thought her parents just didn't do it correctly and so she was going to prove that she could do it). She wrote a book called "Dancing With Crazy" I believe the name is.

If it isn't THIS severe, think about it. They tell guys if they go on missions, then they'll get hot wives. My intellectually and physically disabled brother went on a mission. He never should have been sent. He still thinks at age 56 that his hot wife is somewhere out there. We have to monitor his fb page and remove the "friends" he connects with who are scantily clad women and he is asking them out on dates. The church really messes with his head. He has to come to talk to me about if he should be able to go to the temple (they PUSH him to go) as he feels like he isn't worthy as he has bad thoughts and masturbates sometimes. Now, I'm his older sister. My dad about had a fit when he found out my brother was coming to me about this, but since I've had to deal with what the church did to US, I just handle him with kid gloves. He still goes to church and many of the people who knew my parents are good to him. He also has 2 friends from his childhood who are SO GOOD to him.

But it was up to ME to save my gay boyfriend. It was up to me to give him enough sex so that he wouldn't go have sex with men. I mean MY VERY GOOD FRIEND told me it was my fault he cheated even though he didn't know how much sex we had, it just obviously wasn't enough. Oh, believe me, I've called them all on their bullshit over the years.

But I'm not surprised at all that women raised in mormonism can get stuck in situations like this. We are their sacrificial lambs or are we their lab rats? I was a lab rat to them. Save yourself, now go do everything we told you not to do and we'll still let you go through the temple. Boy, the temple was a real shocker. Hell, it has sexual overtones in every possible way. Five points of fellowship? with old men.

I'll have to read more of this later as I get to go to the doctor now that my COVID is not contagious??? I question that. I need refills as old IHC got rid of their pharmacies and my meds aren't going to any pharmacy I'm aware of and I've been out of bp medication for a month now.

When you go that far off of the deep end, can you ever really come back? I'm not convinced.

There's a group of women, The Dossier Project, committed to disproving the "myths" and sharing the gospel of NXIVM. I haven't looked at their site for a couple years but the first time I saw it, several of the board members were LeBarons.

It's crazy and mind-boggling.

I learned about them when an article came out about the Dr who did all the branding/tattooing on the women. She's still pro-cult. Her website links to them. There used to be copy in the site explaining and endorsing them, but I don't see it on her site anymore
