unopened on a shelf in his living room
When I aked him why he answered that it served two purposes
1-It gave his friends something to think about
and
2-gave his enemies something to talk about

The only thing I would say to him is that, "you have stored it wrong, you have a bottle of vinegar on the shelf".

Actually it was stored on a wine shelf

So was the "wine shelf" refrigerated correctly? A wine shelf without proper refrigeration is called a shelf.

Don'tcha just love hanging out with a friend that clearly has enemies!?!

Since this is your friend, are their enemies your enemies too?

Is your friend a mob boss or ruthless dictator by chance?

Curious to know what brand of wine the enemies like to discuss, I might what to pick up a bottle.....for a friend.

Your friend sure "owned" his friend and his enemies with that trick! LOL.

I have never believed most of the church's anecdotal stories about church leaders being plagued with tough moral decisions: keep the WoW covenants or have a cup of coffee, tea or wine with their executives.

What I do know is that Mormon leaders do anything when their church superiors request something. And I think they do the same when their boss requests them to give a toast at a company social. You do what's being asked to keep your position.

Actually the whole story is a fabrication to illustrate a point

I think it's more of a Provo/Orem kind of thing.

Well at least there is reaction to the posting
That 's what it's all about

Take a look at another "get a reaction" poster for tips on being more successful at this.

Oh, and I've heard the "expensive bottle of wine" thing way back when I lived in Orem.

It's not your place to tell people to get vaccinated, got it.

It is your place to get people reacting to what ever you post, got that too.

I guess it' over my head but these don't seem to be points worth making. Says more about the owner of the wine bottle than anything else, I'd say. Get a life already!

And the other thing I don't get about this is why does the bottle need to be expensive? Would a Mormon even know a Chateau Lafite 1869 from a Thunderbird 2021 or Two-buck Chuck?

You can't get Two Buck Chuck in Utah. It would have to be imported. Maybe that would impress them.

Ahh~ ♡

That's why I keep things on my custom shelves, and hanging on the walls, and on the outside of the crib- to make people think! And give them something to talk about! Lord knows they need it.

That's also my attitude toward life: I generally make someone think and talk... or blink and walk.

It would be nice if people would THINK!
It would be nice if they would talk too (about something important, of course, like what is on the tip of my tongue, my desk, shelves, walls and in my cabinets (vs. what is on-in theirs, especially if they're mormon)].

I like things that are expensive, old, weird, different, beautiful, ornate, flexible, well crafted, etc... or inexpensive/ free/ gifted, handmade, natural, authentic, true, ... lovely.

I just don't like cheap things, new plastix things, cookie cutter common things and stuff...

I have a few things in my home people talk about when they see them. Would you like to see them or have me describe anything?

I'd keep a bottle of that expensive stuff but I would be both my friend and my enemy, and you know, we can't have that.

I might have other expensive indulgences lying and hanging around, but they generally get consumed and replaced. I like things to look at-

I hope this comment gives people something to think about, and not talk about.
