"Hamm prayed about the dream murder, hoping it wouldn’t come true. The next day, however, she claims she called her mother and discovered that her prayers had caused a witch who lived near her to be murdered instead."
Allegedly, after the #2 Annointing, you can put curses on people.
Before he retired from law enforcement, DH used to pray aloud at the dinner table that various county residents would be struck by lightning. His prayers seemed to be effective one way or another.
That’s when the kids an I stopped closing our eyes during the prayer.
Oh.. The "dusting of feet" ordinance. Not sure if that was used to kill people, but there are all sorts of legends surrounding its use to exact some sort of revenge of righteousness.
Does every mission have some story of missionaries doing laundry at a public laundry and somehow missionary garments are desecrated? And the missionaries dust their feet and the place burns down?
Not quite a killing by prayer, but seems built on the same magical thinking.
You don't believe in Satan. You don't believe in prayer. You don't really believe in the power of witchcraft, do you? You don't believe in premonition or revelatory dreams. They're all myths and superstitions. So what's the big deal?
But would you consider somebody killing an animal on your property threatening? Trespassing on your property and driving a stake into it? How about somebody entering your property on false premises? If not to plant something "unholy," how about to stake out the rooms for later criminal activity? (Incidentally, this is a tactic Roma criminals utilize.)
When all is said and done, we have the homicide of a hostile actor and arson. THAT was real.
On a somewhat unrelated matter, Madeline Murray O'Hare was murdered by...a fellow atheist. Food for thought.

What?
No one said anything implying they were okay with those things. I further suspect that to the vast majority of posters here, the religious beliefs of a person committing those crimes/improprieties would be irrelevant.

Who said anything different? With whom are you arguing?

Non sequitur--and silly. Most Christian victims of murder in Mexico are killed by Christians. Most communists slain in North Korea, are slain by communists. There's nothing unusual in a person being victimized by someone with whom s/he shares common attributes.
AHAHHAHAHAHAHAA as if anyone would believe anything this nutwad said. Sounds like she would spout any kind of woo as long as there are suckers that believe her. It remains to be seen how many idiots will vote for her but hey, there is one born every minute!

You mean the sin that's slightly worse than sex? Mormons should never have sex, ever. If they do, they might discover that sex isn't bad at all. So how bad can murder be? That's how you get people like Lori Vallow.
Back when I watched COPS, I used to joke, "Do you think he's a returned missionary?". But sometimes I was right!
