They threatened him first!

They were at his front door yelling, “Death by snu-snu, death by snu-snu!!”

Nice guy, huh?

He feels entitled to pull the woman out of her car. He's the big powerful man. He not only has the earthly power of having been elected Sheriff twice, but he has the Priesthood! I bet there won't be any limits put on his Priesthood power after he just abused a woman and girls.

And of course they will forgive him as required. He won't even need to ask for forgiveness. You are required to forgive all Priesthood holders.

"A confrontation between Bingham County's sheriff and female members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is being called a "likely misunderstanding" by local church officials."

"Rowland, who is a member of the LDS church, has declined to comment about the incident pending the outcome of the investigation.

The church itself is not expressing an opinion on the incident but local church representatives expressed their support for Rowland as sheriff.

Ray Matsuura, a church communications officials from Blackfoot, called Rowland's service to the community "commendable."

"Church officials and others with knowledge of the case have stated . . ."

On what planet is it appropriate for "church officials" to know anything about a pending police investigation? And why are not one but two church public relations hacks defending the sheriff as opposed to pretending they care about the separation of church and state? This is like the Provo police communicating with BYU's police and standards departments: constitutional indefensible.

Yet so it begins, the circling of the wagons to protect the honorable priesthood holder from the predations of lupine women and children.

Yes, indeed!
How dare that woman call 911! She should have just shut up and told the girls to never speak ... at least that is what her Bishop is now telling her. And if she doesn't drop it she will be threatened with Excommunication!

It's obscene, isn't it?

Well, this part of Idaho really should be called Upper Utah. TSCC has a pervasive influence in local affairs.

Yes, I've received that impression from people here. There are times when Idaho sounds worse than Utah with regard to church-state incestuousness. But I don't know much about either state, thank Thor.

The church did send this letter

https://kutv.com/news/local/lori-daybells-attorney-calls-letter-sent-by-lds-church-presidency-alarming

“We remind leaders and members of a long-standing policy that Church leaders should not involve themselves in civil or criminal cases regarding members in their units, quorums or organizations without first consulting with Church legal counsel,” the letter states. "This same policy applies to leaders corresponding with court personal on behalf of criminal defendants or others, including through email," the letter states.

What a brave, brave man. Bold and tough, just what you want to see in your county sheriff. A masculine, manly he-man. Eastern Idaho for the win!

The good citizens of Bingham County can at last sleep peacefully. They must be proud of their local law enforcement, courageously defending them against vicious roving gangs of <checks notes> teenaged mormon girls and their deadly arsenal of <checks again> thank-you notes. Who knows what heinous carnage Sheriff Rowland may have prevented?

As a law enforcement officer you don’t grab a firearm unless the situation justifies it. The gun stays in the holster until there is a threat of deadly or severe harm to you or others.

You don’t grab a long arm unless the situation justifies the use of a shotgun or rifle.

There was no deadly threat or threat of severe harm. People leaving a card triggered this guy? Where did he get his badge? The toy section of Wal-Mart?

Nothing about this case makes sense; especially his reaction.

So here's a wild one which might explain why he went off the handle.

Maybe the YW group interrupted his porn session. No, I am not joking! Some people don't bother to use or close the curtains (if they think their residence is remote). He may have been incensed that his privacy had been invaded and had to abruptly throw on a pair of pants to see what was happening.

Unfortunately, I routinely was part of a scouting troop who randomly dropped in unannounced to member's homes. Even worse, we were encouraged to snoop around to find Brother/Sister So and so. I had peers with no manners who would peep through windows. This same group would do the same thing at my house when they came to pick me up for youth temple trips.

I think the sheriff overreacted by pulling a gun on the group. He definitely is a loose cannon and should be charged accordingly.

That’s it. He was choking the chicken while he was in his porn dojo and he would have had the orgasm of his life if it weren’t for those meddling LDS kids.

Maybe he uses his gun in his sessions?

On a bright note, he won't have to worry about any more church visitors.

Seriously, he sounds mentally imbalanced.
