I have a lemon and orange tree in my back yard.

As it turns out, they are a gift that keeps on giving.

That is to say, I give them to my family, my neighbors, my mailman, the two ladies who clean my house--and anyone else who rings my doorbell. Even so, the two trees look as though they have never been picked of their fruit.

I have thought about putting them in a box, and leaving them at a street that goes in five directions at the end of my street. But, how do I lift such heavy stuff to do even that? And I'm certainly not going to stand there with a sign, "Free Fruit"!

Not even thrift stores wants them--as it appears, they don't want the responsibility of possible bugs on board, although one allowed my to leave my box of fruit outside their doorway.

I no longer drive, and I am not going to lug these heavy boxes anywhere myself, let alone flag down drivers by showing them the fruit in my hands.

Furthermore, only one neighbor sent me a "thank-you" note!

Any suggestions?

Just get a wagon, pick them and take them to neighbors

Maybe a relative would want them, I see a similar problem with a house across the street, theve got a manicured Peachtree that was babied by the last owner, but the present owner hates peaches so they all fall on the ground, I'm ready to walk over there and start stealing them but I don't know?

Find a senior apartment complex or two. Everyone loves free fruit. Some senior might even pick them up from you.

The complexes I lived in loved when fresh fruit or vegetables were given.
