I had a doctors appointment this morning and hubby came with me. It was to make sure everything is okay before I have some surgery.

We finally got our Pfizer booster shots right there at the doctors office. We had been hesitant about getting boosted after hearing all the different rumors about side effects, but our doctor was reassuring and said that the Covid-19 cases are starting to rise again and that especially with me having surgery coming up, it would be a good idea for us to be boosted.

So far, we’re not feeling any side effects, and feel just as comfortable as when we got our first two vaccines.

I'm hoping your no side effect streak continues. Doses 2 and 3 were not much fun for me, but covid was worse.

I trust you are doing OK. You seem to be the self-sufficient, got-it-all-together type. Yet still, grief of a partner is a tough one. Thinking of you.

It's been a year now, and I guess I've synched into a somewhat different life in certain ways.

(From an outsider's perspective, my "now" life would not appear to be all that different from my life a year ago, but inside myself, I've made some alterations for the good, so I am happy about that.)

From my husband's perspective, he created a life for himself far beyond, and far different in positive ways, than the lives of anyone he had known during his childhood and adolescence in Missouri--so he died feeling a deep (and well-earned) satisfaction within himself for what he, himself, had indisputably accomplished (beginning in his twenties, and then throughout the rest of his life).

Wherever he is now, I hope he's happy.

I'm going to schedule mine for either Friday, or a week from Friday. I've been delaying it for a bit because I'm down for about a day afterwards (I get the Moderna.) But I will do what needs doing.
