The Church of Jesus Christ may allow landscapes at some Latter-day Saint temples to go dormant due to U.S. West drought conditions, the Salt Lake City-based Deseret News reported. “We all play a part in preserving the critical resources needed to sustain life — especially water — and we invite others to join us in reducing water use wherever possible,” a statement from the church said.
You don’t need to guess, and it isn’t just short headlines that are a problem. The full name of LDS Inc will not fit in any headline. This is a genuine and serious problem, and there is obviously no good solution, or they would have come up with it by now.
Insisting on referring to Mormons as “members of TCOJCOLDS” is an even bigger problem for both headlines and general speech. It’s got all the grace and charm of a gravel truck rollover
Here in the DC metro area, in spite of the campaign and even public tours of the remodeled building, it’s still just the “mormon temple,” and its main job is as a landmark in traffic reports.
I remember when I lived in Colorado many years ago, there were times when it was mandated when you could water (say, two days per week between certain hours.) So it could be a matter of law. But I'm sure that church authorities won't complain about the lower water bills.

Want to really impress people there, 'true church', end the drought with your supposed magic powers
I'm down at the tabernacle today looking at the stores and went jogging up the island and wow does the lawn look green! The city was running the firehidrants to water the gutters in town today downtown. There goes a million gallons for fun.
I'm OK with writers using the full name of the church when its bishops go to prison for sex crimes. If "Mormon" was associated with the church's unsavory past, the full name can be linked to its unsavory present. The official church-preferred name will soon enough become just as tainted as "Mormon." The church will then be cornered with nothing to hide behind.
Mormon = polygamy, racism, homophobia
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints = sex perversion
They can replace members with investors. Of course when peon members are accused of committing serious crimes then the church refers to the accused as volunteers.
