1. There is no credible evidence accepted by the relevant scientific and academic communities that the Native Americans are wholly or even partially partially descended from Hebrew refugees in the last 26 hundred years.

At least the church itself can finally be cited on this issue to educate people about it.

2. Humanity is over 200,000 years old (possibly much older) if you're only counting "anatomically modern humans," and white people didn't exist seven millennia ago.

Well, white people didn't spring into existence suddenly. Their ancestors were around and living in Europe, of course, but they were dark-skinned people with waivy hair and sometimes had blue eyes until very recently. The blue-eye gene is itself a mutation of only a single gene. These genes in particular are skin-deep, and it's not the end of world to admit Jesus wasn't a white dude.

3. Human brains are generally getting smaller compared to ancestors at the peak of their triumph over other hominid races for the globe, because apparently evolution is making us more dependent on the collective and on special expertise and in technology by economizing what our minds can do.

We just don't need to be able to do what each and every one of our ancestors had to do as individuals in order to survive.

https://www.discovermagazine.com/planet-earth/the-human-brain-has-been-getting-smaller-since-the-stone-age

4. We are descended from great apes, and we weren't the only human species of great apes to evolve and migrate out of eastern Africa. Sometimes several different species would exist simultaneously. We aren't the longest reigning species of human either: Homo Erectus reigned for 2 million years before we hit our stride.

5. If we had descended from a single breeding pair at any point in our history, our genome would be too inbred to go on. The closest we get to a "first family" is a period in our history, written in our DNA, when our population fell to as few a forty breeding pairs. This would have happened 70,000 years ago, and it contradicts everything Genesis teaches about human origins. Although we do have a remarkable undiverse genome compared to other great apes because of this bottleneck.

6. The entire human genome is documented.

We only need time to tease out through experimentation what each of the proteins coded for in those genetic strands does. There are hundreds of thousands of different proteins coded therein.

https://www.genome.gov/human-genome-project

7. A new branch of science called epigenetics studies how gene expression can vary based on environmental factors like famine and stress, which calls into question the few areas of genetics a tbm may like to bring up at the dinner table like which genes might control for IQ and how predictable that is, which is not well understood yet.

https://www.niehs.nih.gov/health/topics/science/epigenetics/index.cfm

8. DNA has an edit button that scientists are increasingly playing with... for better or worse. It's only a matter of time before the first CRISPR-edited humans contribute their DNA to the gene pool

https://www.newscientist.com/definition/what-is-crispr/

9. Genetically modified organisms are not necessarily dangerous unless they were specifically genetically modified to be dangerous. Basic artificial selection is the most common type of genetically modifying a species, and we've been doing it for thousands of years. Everything we eat is technically genetically modified. Without modern GMO foods, it is doubtful we could grow enough food to feed all the people that exist on earth now. Covid is a great example of a dangerous GMO that was probably a bug that got away from a lab in WUhan where they were doing shady kinds of scientific research with American funding in part. So I guess there are some GMOs they don't want to know about, but be smart and well-informed about which ones.

10. Skin color has more to do with how far your ancestral lineage lived from the equator and less to do with anything else.

Honestly there are some wonderful immigrants coming to our country these days, and adding their darker skin genes to the pool isn't good or bad. I understand the debate about legal immigration, but even the ones who come here illegally have proven they aren't in most cases the sorts of people who drive up crime.

11. Government methods of identifying "race" are worthless.

For example, if you discount the "hispanic or nonhispanic" part of the census data, the amount of "white" people has actually gone up slightly in recent years. There is no white genocide, only a prejudice that Hispanic white people are not real white people. The data is all self-reported anyway. Nobody shows up at your house if you check the wrong racial box.

12. Despite inflammatory rhetoric coming from partisans, nobody is coming to get you. You've always been allowed in America to have as many kids as you want, and there never were any plans to "cancel" your race or replace you with other peoples. IF you think there's a white genocide and you want to inflate the white population yourself, go ahead. To the extent that there is a dip in the white population, it's just that lots of Americans are having fewer kids by choice but it isn't unique to a racial group, moreso economic status. To the extent that the white male life expentency has declined for the first time in American history, blame that on the fact that elite don't care about the working class. Inflammatory racial rhetoric is a problem, even the rhetoric coming from the American leftwing, because it divides us against one another, so we have to bring that tone down in the short term, but long term the "non-hispanic whites" are slated to be the dominant racial group in the United States for the next 500 years at least, even if they aren't an outright majority by themselves. Latinos in particular are about as culturally European as a source of immigrants come with most of them having very staunch catholic views or as we say "JudeoChristian values". If certain political parties can get over skin color, America's future seems to be very very Christian and traditional, seeing as how a whole third of Latino voters voted in 2016 for the pro-life majority on the Supreme Court we now have and now Roe has actually been overturned. What I'm trying to say with this last point is that you don't know what America will be like if fifty years or a hundred years or how our kids will view themselves racially. Once upon a time, books were being written about how Irish and Italian immigrants were destroying what made America great, but three or four generations removed from that hysteria after largely mixing together we hardly remember it ever happened. I don't see how 2022 is any different. We have challenges, but we also have a more glorious view of how closely related the human family is than anyone has ever enjoyed and the data is consistent with chilling the fuck out.

The new studies certainly alter the probabilities, don't they. The lab leak scenario remains possible, but the likelihood has decreased significantly.

So they know Covid started in the market, and even a specific portion of the market (the live or recently butchered mammal section.) They know that it started as two separate strains/events starting on or around November 18th, 2019.

It sounds like they are still trying to work out specifically which mammal is involved.

Have the Chinese since cracked down on live animal sales?

China has cracked down on the wet markets.

I would like to see more studies on the inception of the pandemic. China is still suppressing a lot of genetic evidence for the weeks before November 18, even going back to late September; and satellite images and press reports indicate a surge in hospital usage for some malady in early November, which could mean an earlier jump between the species.

I would feel more comfortable if Beijing simply released all the COVID data they have. The embargo suggests that the government is not as confident about the origin of the pandemic as the researchers of the new reports are.

I’ve been avoiding Covid news for a while since my father and I came to blows over it. Interesting. Even Jon Stewart came out and had said the virus was probably from the lab that exists there.

I guess my only point bringing that up is the concept of ‘gain of function’ research is technically an organism being modified genetically just to see what they can make it do, and when you’re working with viruses that’s pretty dangerous — as opposed to bringing out genes in fruits which make them bigger or help their host plants grow sturdier, which is not dangerous.

Jon Stewart is neither god nor a scientist. I usually agree with him, but I think he got this one wrong.

My biggest beef about GMO is commercial tomatoes that are about as tasty as wet styrofoam but can be dropped from an airplane without damage. For at least the next 8 weeks we get to eat real tomatoes.

BTW, the Chinese conspiracy theory is that the US engineered covid, and released it in China to embarrass the Chinese.

ETA: Very good list C-D. Well done.
