Glad to see you up and about, kentish, even if you're making me hungry for a midnight snack that is unobtainable at this moment. (Well, it's not midnight here yet but may be down your way).

Oh, just saw this now, kentish.
That is what I call a great result!
I am so looking forward to doing mine at last, when I figure out which company to go with. I can readily predict I will be English, Irish, Scottish. Anything else would be a huge surprise.
I was nervous about sending my DNA out into the world on its own, to end up who knows where, but I'm so curious I can't control the impulse now. I haven't run into anybody I know who has come across any great surprises with theirs. My high school boyfriend found out he's got a huge Irish component, which really surprised him. Me too. He was from back East so that seemed pretty exotic to me at the time, haha.
On that amazingly interesting Henry Louis Gates TV show (Finding Your Roots) very occasionally a Black guest may find out they have a White ancestor (but the history of that is usually ignoble) and guests with European roots discover more specific information about their forebears, even including the life histories and professions/work of their folks a few generations back. I can guess mine somewhat, considering their locations and the situation in Great Britain in certain historical times.
It's all very intriguing - the search as well as the results.
I wish HLG could do mine for me - I'm lazy that way - but am not famous at all so obviously I'll have to do it myself. Hence the delay.
One thing that's spurring me on is that I have a few photographs of relatives from way back (sepia photos) and nobody here in Canada knows who they are. I have one photo of a baby from even further back, taken on a beach. I don't really have a hope that I can ever identify the babe.
An interesting observation I've made is that even though I don't know who those past folks are I can tell which side of the family they're from as my father's relatives all have a similar and distinct facial structure. At least that's my working theory for now. Maybe some of my cousins on that side would know. It will be amazing to put names to the faces on the ancient photographs.
To me it's kind of sad yet fun all at the same time.

Your prodding got me to read the article. I don’t believe their explanation about QWERTY keyboards, but otherwise I buy their explanations. I knew numerology colored (pun not intended) some of Newton’s decisions about the spectrum of light.
I thought Sinbad Played a Genie in a movie called Shazam. Maybe the first vision, witness to the book of Mormon and all the other crap came out of collective remembering?
I hear the Most Interesting Man in the World when he has failed to drink his Dos Equis responsibly and is singing to the moon like an inebriated Sancho Panza.
