I have heard of this "influential" Husband/Wife duo a few times. I had no idea they were supposedly active LDS. Drummer/Singer wife has died from cancer.

When I first heard their music I did not care for it, but I realize they have a pretty big following in non=mainstream music.
I think they have a NPR Tiny Desk Video that is easy to find on youtube, Rick Beato has a tribute to them that has some of their better stuff IMHO.

Anybody know their Mormon backstory?

I had never heard of them before, but based on the comments, they were very well loved in Duluth, Minnesota. One person wrote that they went to her funeral and her sister shared about how she preferred playing with trucks over dolls.

I might have to listen to more of their stuff. Thanks for sharing.

'Cause if we knew where we belong
There'd be no doubt where we're from
But as it stands, we don't have a clue
Especially me
and probably you

Her husband Alan Sparhawk grew up Mormon and she joined after they married
Low is highly regarded by many well known rock musicians so the guests at her service were probably not what the ward members usually see.
