What does a "Good Shepherd" eat?

One by one - he devours the flock.

Keeps enough for breeding, shearing and maybe sell some - but he kills and eats them.

Wait, wait, wait...

Are you saying that there are no sheep, goat, or cattle graveyards on the appropriate ranches?

So a "Good Shepherd" is a well-fed ranch owner?

What about the horses?

What about the sheep dog? What happened to him, eosd?

This board is filled with stories of members used, abused, bled dry of resources and abandoned when they're too old or poor to be useful.

Plus most of us got fleeced.

This could be taken to mean that if you don't have all you need to survive, you haven't been righteous enough.

So if you're asking for a handout...you probably aren't worthy, because if you were worthy, you wouldn't need a handout!!

In the end, it's not how you get rich, it's simply, "are you rich?"  Then you can inherit your kingdom.

The Shepherd relates the story of a De Havilland Vampire pilot, going home on Christmas Eve 1957, whose aircraft suffers a complete electrical failure en route from RAF Celle in northern Germany to RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. Lost in fog over the North Sea and low on fuel, he encounters a De Havilland Mosquito fighter-bomber, which has apparently been sent up to "shepherd" (i.e. guide) him in.

The circumstances of how he is guided to a safe landing, and his subsequent efforts to identify the pilot who saved him, are the central themes of the story.

You can't get resurrected unless you are dead. DUH. Being a resurrection-ee is the goal here and the resurrection-er needs some sustenance for such a gigantic task. This is not rocket science ---as, clearly, religion never is.

The symbolism of being both (either?) sheep and warriors for God in scripture is not exactly appealing.

I don't get why so many people are happy to identify with those analogies, but following them to their logical conclusion leads to some funny posts!
