It reminds me of EOD, who was recently embarrassed when medical scientists reported that his claimed IQ of 170 was slightly higher than the number of cells identified by their latest CT scan of his brain.
We all have known for decades that the LDS Inc numbers are grossly inflated. They count large numbers of people who have zero participation, and don’t consider themselves to be Mormon.
That’s why I consider the Canadian census numbers on religious affiliation to be so valuable. Even self-identified Mormons would include some that no longer participate, but still self-identify as Mormon, but it is considerably closer to reality than the official church statistics.
Since this survey used LDS supplied membership numbers, it is basically worthless.
