There are signs all around my neighborhood announcing that there is going to be a "walk about" today starting at 5:30 p.m. What the heck is that? Bringing church to the neighborhood? Will they stop at my house and sing hymns?
As for going to church today, does going to look at the "about to flood" little cottonwood creek running through Murray Park count? It's getting real over there, folks.
My local ward does the walk about thing too. It’s an attempt at creating a social activity. A few families in the ward host and they place a table with cookies and punch (or more likely water) in their yards. You’re supposed to walk to a hosting house or two and visit with neighbors and ward members along the way and get a treat.
A neighbor of mine talked to me about attending church, as a kindness, with her grown foster son. She spoke about it with good will, but also the complete puzzlement of the unchurched. Good luck to the the missionaries trying to sell the Mormon church to people like my neighbor.
as I can't remember what day of the week it is. It seems like Sunday more often than it should. Haven't been to church in 25+ years.
I work at home and on my own schedule, so I have no schedule, so my days do get mixed up.
gemini, we had a trailer park where quite a few people park their 5th wheels and motor homes flood by where I walk my dogs some of the time. They all had to move out and it is still getting deeper. Luckily, I don't live close enough to a river or any water to have to worry. I haven't gone over and looked at Hyrum Dam. I wonder how that is.
