It’s not so strange that these types manage to create a persona that draws in their victims.

His youngest victim was two years old. What an awful human being. He should be locked up for the rest of his life.

Gives no further details on his callings etc.

Unknown as to callings, but in every other respect he did his level best to be working about children, so we can guess.

The Daily Mail headline refers to the accused as "Mormon" but the article doesn't elaborate.

If he was active LDS at the time of the crimes, I can list him at floodlit.org (LDS sex abuse database).

There are other McKees in Wirral, but I can't link any of them to the church. I've ruled out a couple of McKees in nearby Liverpool.

Yeah, I did a rather thorough search. I think the best avenue for 3am would be to contact one of the reporters who wrote the Manchester Evening News article for further information.

I asked someone about him and was told he has been inactive for "decades" (at least twenty years) but still has active family.

It's plausible. He hadn't lived in the UK for at least ten years according to the reports. He was living in Thailand and had to be extradited by the Thai police. The part of Thailand he lived in is described in the articles as being in the north east near the Laos border. They don't name it. Most of the LDS presence in Thailand is in and around Bangkok.

There is a far more serious issue which is that he was working in a school when he was in Thailand.

They'll be wanting to excommunicate him, I expect?

I believe he is in line right behind Ammon Bundy.

I've been contacted by two sources who say Paul McKee was LDS and has now been excommunicated.

According to one, McKee lived with a man who was accused by three young girls, but who was acquitted and still attends church in a local ward. That source also said McKee’s father was allegedly accused by four women who were young girls at the time of the alleged sexual abuse, but apparently was never charged with a crime.

I'll keep following up and probably create a listing for him soon at floodlit.

I have already submitted all of these individuals to Floodlit, apart from Coltart because it wasn't clear if he was a church member.

I don't know what to do about people who've been accused or acquitted False accusations do get made, and I don't want to wreck anyone's life if they are innocent, but his connection to McKee is a major red flag.

'The same court heard on Monday that he was subjected to a beating behind bars at the hands of fellow sex offender Ryan Kenny on February 15 this year. The incident at HMP Altcourse was caught on CCTV and showed him being punched once from behind.

'Christopher Hopkins, prosecuting, described how McKee then fell and suffered injuries including a fractured jaw, ribs and vertebrae. Prison guards then intervened, at which point Kenny said: "That's what you get for fiddling with kids."'

Well, that was predictable. Even convicted prisoners don't like child molesters.
