I moved to Missouri and have not celebrated it in decades. It is increasingly becoming a non-event for my Utah relatives. Just another artifact of the long dead world I came from.
as most people in the whole town were lighting them off for hours.
I don't celebrate it or 4th of July or Memorial DAy really or Labor Day. Just another day of the week.
When I was young, we'd have a round the block parade and my mom often dressed us as pioneers and put cardboard on our trikes and bikes to make them look like covered wagons. I have been out long enough I haven't a clue if they have anything.
Oh wait, there was a note on my front door about a party over at the bishop's with food and fireworks. This bishop seems to like to have parties a lot at his house and he has a huge back yard. This ward isn't bad. Most of the time they leave me alone. There are just a choice few.
