Today's Mormon leaders have no concept of theology, or scriptural studies, or anything else even remotely related. There was certainly a time when they did- B. H. Roberts, Talmage and so on- but those days are long gone. So do not ask about any "official church doctrine" on anything. They are businessmen (emphasis on the "men" part) whose only goal is to grow the organization. That is what Mormonism has devolved into. Thank you.

Great point. Many religious beliefs encourage dialogue and debate to strengthen belief.

Success in Mormonism is the creating of more Mormons, either by having children and “raising them up in righteousness”, or by missionary conversion.

Failure in Mormonism is doing anything that makes the organization look bad.

It’s all about increasing market share.

You're right. Mormonism has pretty much been reduced to rehashing General Conference talks. The topics for sacrament meeting talks and lessons generally come straight from the most recent conference. Church leaders only care that the membership is following what they said in the last six months.

Even on those rare occasions when they declare something to be doctrine and/or the will of god, they later change their mind (a couple of examples are blacks receiving the priesthood and children of gay couples not being allowed to be baptized).

This is why Mormons can't answer simple questions such as how to reconcile the Bible with the BoM.

Mormons believe that God was as a man who went up the food chain of "eternal progression". In his 1844 King Follett discourse, Joseph Smith said, “God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!”

Why the inconsistency? Mormons simply cannot answer that question.

Bottom line. Nobody knows anything. Everyone points to LDS books but what proves the old book is true?

Faith. Sometimes we just have to accept things on faith.

There is no doctrine and no social programs. I try to understand why people do what they do, but I am having a hard time by Mormons stick around. Anybody over 25 grew up in a different church with different doctrines than what is there today.

Somebody compared it to the "Daughters of the Revelation". Just a social club now that promotes "traditional values". Of course you need to pay to play.

This is why I focus on the current disconnects between what they Say & What They Do; my experience was Knowingly granting a liar & a cheater a TR.

They have No Respect for the basic, core elements of Christ-like living

Honesty, Kindness, Empathy

bc they’re tied to putting ChurchCo FIRSTin everyone’s mind & checkbook.
