I'm at work. I work on the same floor as the roof of the building connected to our building. On this roof is a swimming pool for the loft apartments underneath.

Walking to a meeting I saw a couple of developers next to their windows. I walked into our meeting room and went to the window to see what they were looking at.

There was a lone lovely young woman in a thong bikini lounging on a deck chair. Her legs were raised instead of being down. In a thong this shows much and barely covered the bit that would have exposed everything.

This was a first for me. But it didn't bother me. Just an interesting thing that happened today. Seeing what my parents consider pornography right outside my window at work.

I think this is indicating that times are changing and nudity is becoming more and more acceptable. I welcome the change but like other things it isn't something I was raised as acceptable.

And on that note, my Mormon neighbor had been posting on Snapchat pictures of herself in tube tops and provocative poses. This is a temple recommend holder. I have no idea if this is something sinful. Just the times they are a changing...

I have two stories on this topic.

I was in Germany on a business trip years ago. First night at the hotel, I decided to find the sauna. I found the sauna. I was wearing swim trunks and left them on, as I would in the states. No one else was in there when I went in.

In a few minutes, a French couple came in and sat down with nothing on. After a minute or two, we realized the sauna was not hot. They left to find another one. I left a minute later, walked down the hallway and turned left. That opened up to a large room full of naked people, an outdoor patio and a uni-sex shower. The sauna in that area was hot so I removed my swim trunks and went in. The couple was there too. We started chatting and they asked where I was from and I said the US. They smiled and said "yes, we could tell, you were wearing shorts."

I enjoyed the fact that adults could be naked without any issues. It's very liberating.

Similar thing after high school. A good friend of mine was raised in Vancouver BC and we used to go there on weekends in our senior year. We went up after graduation with a few other guys. My friend took us on a hike through the woods that led to the beach. We walked a while and the beach made a turn and as we turned, it opened up to a long nude beach.

We walked a while, fell silly being dressed, so we all stripped down, found a place to sit, went swimming, said hi to many nude girls our age as they passed by and had a great time.

I don't get why our country is so hung up on nudity.

Because if we weren't hung up on nudity, we couldn't fire all those librarians and elementary school teachers who are ruining our children.

Well, there is that.

On another note, the naked French woman I shared the sauna with looked a lot like the woman I am now married to.

We had only been on a date or two at that time, but I remember thinking to myself "wow, she looks like Beth....but without clothes on!"

We've been together since 2005 and married since 2007.

Well, we know what's in your mind when. . .

Heck yeah! Now if only my wife had that cool French accent!

While cooking, I saw a clip from a Wyoming school board meeting at which a librarian's firing was announced. She had made the mistake of asking the board to identify the books she was supposed to purge rather than making her bear the legal liability for doing so.

There were about 250 members of the public, standing room only, at the meeting. The librarian got a standing ovation and the board was forced to shut down the assembly because opinion was so massively against them.

I wish I could find that video--it may have been an hour long--because it was important and interesting. There is a rebellion brewing across the country against Christian conservatives and their cancel culture as well as their attacks on schools and teachers. The insanity has gone too far.

You make this all sound wonderful, but it's not. I've been in continental Europe and have seen these types of people. Like my comment below, they are rarely the type of people you'd want to see nude. They tend to look more like the older Hilda Schwab than the younger Gina Lollobrigida. Or in the case of males, more like Ron Jeremy than Brad Pitt.

Whoosh. People don't go nude to arouse you or anyone else.

Nor, for that matter, does your Speedo improve the experience for others.

Wearing something revealing / provocative isn't nudity (upsets some nudists!), I haven't seen people wearing that type of attire at nudist parks, and I've been to lots of them.

Do you have a suggestion for a better title? And for previous generations that is nudity.

as in all or most subjects, a well-rounded discussion is best, especially for nudism bc it evokes emotions in the U.S. far above what people in other countries (Northern European especially) pay attention to.

I think we agree that Rightists are always looking for enemies / cultural ('issues' as they claim) that are far off attention by most folks.

Kinda like 'swear words'; if they loose the stigma, who cares?

With some topics, it's not long after people have lost their inhibitions that boredom sets in.

I think most of the posters are either sarcastic / cynical Or missing the point;

A casual visit to a nude or clothing optional place might change minds; bring a towel & a friend, that’s how I started…

I'm confident that many of us have been to such places and simply don't care one way or the other.

I for one have.

I suspect that if everyone went topless, but women started covering their elbows at all times, men would start watching elbow porn.

This reminds me of what I saw at a warehouse store yesterday. Standing inline to have my sales slip checked, there was a rather large middle age guy leaning over his grocery basket and his pants were at half mast. It was the hairest a-- I've ever seen.

A young women next to me looked and we turned to each other. All I said was " all that's needed is a thong", she started laughing and got funny looks from others. I got out before the scene got any uglier

I live in Germany and in spite of my fluffy and decidedly unsexy body, I LIVE for the nude spas. It took me a long time to take the plunge, but once I did it the first time, I was hooked. I find it very liberating! And honestly, after the first few minutes, it's no big deal at all. No one is looking at other people or mocking them. They're at the spa to relax.

I've written about this a bunch of times in my blog and those are, by far, some of my most popular posts, ever.

The funny thing is, I was a lot more self-conscious about showing my face on YouTube, than I was about being naked in front of a bunch of Germans. But now, neither experience is a big deal to me, anymore. My husband, the exmo, has always been a bit bashful about his body. But even he's learned to embrace a trip to the Friedrichsbad.

Nudity is more Honest than Mormonism!

nudists are open & unashamed of themselves, body shapes & sizes don't or at least shouldn't be a concern.

Mormonism uses language to dissemble & obfuscation.

In reality, the type of people who tend to take their clothes off in public, rarely tend to be the people one would like to see nude.

People can whitter on all they like about body shaming, but unless you have a "beach bod" (and only a handful of us do), you should put it away.

In my experience, people in the nude spas aren't sitting around looking at each other. They're there to relax and are focused on themselves. They usually wear robes or wrap up in towels if they aren’t in the pools.

I don't care if someone else thinks I'm not "hot" enough to gawk at. I'm not at the spa for anyone but me. Plus, I'm always there with my husband, anyway. He loves me for my mind.

If you’re going to nude areas inspecting other people’s bodies and judging them, you obviously don’t belong there. Spas are for healing, not ogling others.
