The official LDS website says:


“it is unethical to focus professional treatment on an assumption that a change in sexual orientation will or must occur.”
The church however, continues to exploit desperate and vulnerable members by referring them for expensive treatment with the suggestion that it can and might change sexual orientation.

They say they've changed. They have not. They are still destroying lives. It is horrible what the lds church has done to the gays. That doesn't include all the people who are families of theirs.

Yep. Ditto to that.

"By March 2016, Andrew had reported Owen to both his bishop and to state licensing officials. A new investigation from The Tribune and ProPublica shows how Utah licensers allowed Owen to continue practicing and church leaders repeatedly heard concerns but took several years to take official action. For nearly two years after Andrew’s report, Owen provided therapy to clients, some of whom were men referred for 'same-sex attraction' counseling. During that time, at least three more patients allege they were sexually abused by Owen, including two who reported him to the state licensing body in 2018. Those reports ultimately led Owen to agree to surrender his license."

It is unbelievable that state officials and church officials took this long to deal with the situation.

and experienced. The "ex" and I talked to leaders in 1983 and 1984. We are 66 now. Nothing has changed, maybe even gotten worse.

I know, cl2. I meant "unbelievable" in the sense of, what decent person would ignore a report like that for so long? Answer: No one.

Maybe it was part of the treatment.

Sort of like back in the seventies at Oak's BYU when the gay guys who got caught had to submit to the Shock Treatements or be kicked out and have their TBM families told.

They were shown porn. Some were pretty innocent and hadn't even seen it before. I believe first the gay porn til they got really horny, then the shock treatment, then the straight porn that was supposed to get them turned on to women. It's not rocket science to know it doesn't work that way. All you do is eff somebody up.

All kinds of stories and not just Mormon about gay to straight programs where the leaders took advantage and doing stuff themselves the whole time.

It's one big Sh!t Show run by self righteous you know what's. Religion feeds the worst of humanity.

And this is deeper than the gay stuff. The religious right says there is only one way to be and they are finding the ways to enforce that.

Nothing scares me more than ONE WAY TO BE. Well, unless it's my way of course.
