It won't prevent this worm from crossing into the brain. There are a number of other things that can cross the BBB.
Hence things like Acanthamoeba ("brain-eating amoeba"), cysticercosis and echinococcosis (tapeworm larvae that cause cystic lesions in the brain), brain abscesses from bacterial infections, neurosyphilis, or viral meningoencephalitis, etc.
