So the new historical discovery on Joseph Smith is he wasn’t practicing fornication and adultery and using religious excuses to do it. Nope. Joseph was sealing himself to pregnant women. Some being the pregnant wives of other men.

There was no bangin. Just sealing to women with one in the oven. Joseph was not immoral, he was just an eccentric wierdo.

Interesting article...  This is on mormon.com (the official Satanic port of digital entry for official church news and views) and flat out says JoJu and Fanny were married and that she was his first plural (but temporary) wife.

For the date of the marriage, it only says "early 1830s" and since she was born in 1816, one can speculate that she could have been his bride before she was legally able to drive a mule cart.

I like that truths are so ephemeral* in mormonism.

Lots of speculation on when they got sealed and what sealing actually meant at the time. Lot’s of reading between the lines. Lots of motives to demonize Smith or paint him as the best bloak to appear second to Jesus Christ.

One thing that is apparent in the Joseph Smith Papers is Joseph grew frustrated at the church members that they could not give up their traditions and embrace his kooky concepts which actually led to secret temple ceremonies and polygamy.

Mormonism blew apart in Nauvoo but sadly the radical Brigham Young was able to save it in isolation.

She was only 14. When the church had to finally admit this (although all of this had been more or less public because Family Search had Smif down for 24 wives) , the church took issue with people saying she was only 14. Their defense? "She was just shy of her fifteenth birthday."

The actual wording was "several months before her 15th birthday." In fact, she was five months short of 15--meaning 14 and a half.

And she wasn't the only one. Nancy Winchester was also 14. Maybe Winchester garners less attention because she wasn't the child of Heber Kimball. As always, what matters is less the facts and more the proximity to the chosen families.

Still, the defense is pretty thin, wot-wot?

So Fanny and Joseph in the barn was okay because they would marry later and Emma would eventually learn to accept plural marriage.

If God didn't want to tempt Joseph, why was she named Fanny?

Joseph was a serial statutory rapist. That is the law now and that was the law then. The church would like to excuse Joseph's outlaw ways, but the age difference makes him the predator.

To try and justify it now is to invite ridicule. A prophet overcome with sexual mania, a pathology more recently demonstrated by Warren Jeffs, should call into question the whole enterprise.

Normalizing the abnormal isn't just wrong, it's stupid. Which unfortunately is par for the course.

Let's assume for a minute that it's true. Why would Joseph rob his male followers of the opportunity to be sealed to their wives for eternity? What sort of a monster would do that?

And more importantly, why did it take sooooooo long and sooooooo many other girls/women before he was sealed to Emma - his LEGAL wife?
