Do not associate with outside the faith organizations and churches. They will lead good members astray.

The church has announced that it is partnering with a non-denominational inter-faith food charity to help feed the poor. The church invites all members to participate and help those less fortunate in the community.

This potentially damages the goodwill relationship the Mormons have been trying to build with other churches. Why would the other Christians want to work with them after hearing things like that?

You really need to be willfully ignorant to be a Mormon these days. Of course, the majority of Mormons I know don't really pay attention to this stuff, too occupied with busy work and out righteousnessing each other. Cognitive dissonance would be too much to deal with cause it's confusing and confusion is of the devil. Ugh

Perhaps Nelson doesn't want his legacy to only be the guy who announced a bunch of temples.
He now can also be known as the guy who moved his church from "cult lite" to "cult".

And yet the church condemns us, maligns us, and vilifies us all the time. That's implicit in the message delivered at conference that members should not pay attention to anyone who disagrees with the church.

Nelson evidently finds the expression, "What is sauce for the gander is sauce for the goose" an inconvenient truth.

It's a long and painful journey from here, as we all know.

Nelson sets this up to play the victim card for the church.

Ex. The church changed its missionary age policy from 19 to 18 awhile back. Instead of receiving praise and accolades from its greatest critics, there was article after article that young men would be even less prepared and mature to serve a church mission.

The church and its leaders demand continual praise and adoration like a sick narcissist.

If you believe because you are a prophet of God that whatever you choose to say must be the truth, of God, no matter how contradictory or mean spirited, then are you still a liar? Or just someone with a sick ego who actually believes their own publicity?

As GBH told Mike Wallace, "I am sustained as such". He knew he was filling a role. If your customers want the mouthpiece of God, you play along.

I miss the old days of TSM and GBH. Who knew the church could do so much worse?

I have a hard time taking anyone older than 85 seriously. Most people that old aren’t with it mentally.

Yeah I’m leaning that way. It’s not just the Mormon church keeping people in the dark and feeding them shit.

Is it condemning, maligning, and vilifying someone or something when you simply speak truth and reveal hidden facts? I think not. If a person feels condemned, maligned, and vilified when others discover he has lied and hidden certain facts then that's on him and not the person who has received enlightenment.

If I'm evil because I discovered lies and cover-ups in my former religion and chose to point them out to others who hadn't yet been informed about them, what does that make the people in that religion who knew about the lies and cover-ups but said and did nothing? At the very least it makes them co-conspirators as well as sad and pathetic.
