Now & Then is a feature in the Sunday Seattle Times “PACIFIC” section, it shows past & current photos of PNW buildings & scenes side by side; I hate missing it so I subscribe.

It's funny how certain features can keep you hooked in. My local paper discontinued some features that were important to me, and that's when it lost me as a reader.
I had not listened to the song when it was released - I wasn't "ready".
I know that John and George had their faults and their loved ones were hurt by their failings. It seems that both of them acknowledged and changed their behaviors and made amends before their passing. If they had lived in todays time, I believe their words and music could have brought more peace to the world.
Driving home from work last night our local Los Angeles rock station played the song. It was more emotional for me than I expected but I'm glad that I heard it. The video, however, may have to wait a bit :-D
I just watched the video. Really got to me. The song is beautiful.
I can't put into words what it felt like to hear the Beatles the first time. I was fourteen. I saw them on Ed Sullivan in my father's hospital room. The black and white TV up in the corner near the ceiling. "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" made me feel like I had never felt before. What an awakening. So listening to the new song was truly a "Now and Then" for me.
The Beatles. You had to be there when it happened.
