People who are in charge want people who are obedient workers. They want people who can make things run but are too brainwashed to figure out they are being manipulated and screwed.

They want obedient workers and not critical thinkers. Government agencies and corporations love such people. They love organizational loyal people.

Brigham Young chose the beehive for his symbol because he was the queen bee of the hive. He knew what he had.

The beehive house had lots of honey.

Yup. There was a lot of humming in that hive.

Many decades ago, when I was a mere 7 years old, I was visiting a ward in the city where some obscure relative was blessing a baby.

Since it was my step mother's old ward, we had to attend sunday school as well.

The teacher was giving her lesson and the gist was the church was like a beehive and we were worker bees, needed to follow the leaders and do our parts.

So....the teacher wanted us to raise our hands, promise to be baptized and be good little worker bees.

I didn't raise my hand.

The teacher asked if I didn't want to be a good worker bee.

I said no.

The teacher asked what this visiting little kid from the country wanted to be then.

I said a drone

She foolishly asked why.

I said because a drone's only job is to have sex with the queen.

So I ended up banished to the hallway while she fended off questions about sex.

My step mother was furious I'd embarrassed her in her old ward.

My Dad just kept chuckling, all through the testimony meeting that followed.

Isn't one of the (current or past) LDS Hymns say that 'the world has no use for a drone'?
