I have little, actually NO doubt that some medium-level with denyability c/would funnel & to Jeopardy! ChurchCo might have solicited a private donor to do this...
BYU is a joke, really. For one, it's got a law school named after a pro-Nazi anti-Semite, and a library named after a proud bigot who did not want Black people attending the "university". That says too much for me.
Fair disclosure: I attended the place when men in jeans and women in trousers were against the honor code. How wearing things like that affects one's honor I'll never know. I'm just saying that there have been innumerable changes there -- possibly some of them positive changes -- and I'm likely not qualified to say some of the things I say about the place.
At some point far in the future, I predict they will need to change the names of the law school and university. They are toxic already for people who bother to learn about it.

Be resolute, fear no sacrifice and surmount every difficulty to win victory. The young people are the most active and vital force in society. They are the most eager to learn and the least conservative in their thinking. This is especially so in the new era.
The people, and the people alone, are the motive force in the making of world history.
I suspect that a basic raison d'etre remains its role as a mating ground, where RM peacocks, with humble pride, strut proudly (but humbly) about the campus, their throbbing garment lines attracting the eager-to-be-engaged YW of mormondumb...
One of the few places on Earth where I, a 3.6 (on a good day), could ask a 7 or an 8 out on a date and get a positive response!! And yes, Gladys, I AM referring to the female of the species!
