I will get details later. Unfortunately we need to do fund raising again as we reside on a dedicated server. I hope to lower our costs in negotiating with our ISP. If you wish to help you can donate by going to the bottom of the first page or send a check to:

wingnet
PO Box 2605 Cleveland TN 37320-2605
for exmormon.org

No one is paid here and never have been paid in the nearly 25 years of our existence. I know the site is dated and needs an upgrade. The primary emphasis is the active bulletin board.

Were we attacked by Danites again ?

That's what I was hoping!

Eric's cryptic, "I will get details later..." does tease this possibility.

But it could be quite mundane: Maud simply demanded some time off, so that along with the monetary campaign and the recent spooky visitation by a silly bête noire, they combined to give the "power that be" reason to flip the switch, leaving us each powerless to preach the virtues of our respective internally centered reasons for being, or in my case reason for beans...

Also, I gave at the office...

Double also, does this count as tithing settlement?

Homeless dudes in Portland should not be given internet access.

Nor should they be given dogs.

I donated, but I swear, that’s the last money you’re going to get from me this year!

That seems a strange figure. Did someone give you one dollar? Six dollars?

How much do we need?

Our costs are a bit high. We live on a dedicated server. Our ISP charges $180 per month for full back ups, support etc. I will eliminate my site email to save $20 as it is not used otherwise we are at $200

When I saw the need for funds, I prayerfully ran it past Jesus to see what he thought. I always ask Jesus when it comes to big decisions like this.

I guess he was busy at the moment as he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Then I asked the big guy, but he must be busy too.

So, I asked my neighbor's dog if he minded if I made a donation to RFM and he enthusiastically barked, wagged his tail, and I could tell he was on board wholly.

Hence, I did my part and now the dog and I will get a treat.

But I remain sad that sometimes Dog is the answer to "What's for dinner?"

I have had the RSV and Covid vaccines yet quite ill today. I have only been around a few people these past weeks so it is surprising that I caught something. What I read is to wash you hands regularly especially when out shopping or handling objects that others have touched.

I hope you feel better soon, Eric. I think I may have had RSV this fall. It was like a heavy cold that lasted for four weeks with an upset stomach and other issues.

So sorry to hear that, Eric. Rest up, stay hydrated, seek medical advice if things get worse or don't improve.

Yes, handwashing is always a good idea when trying to avoid infection, as is not touching your face if your hands aren't freshly washed, with soap.

That is just part of the equation though - masking up when in contact with others (such as grocery shopping, church services, crowded work environments) is still a good preventive measure. That offers protection to the wearer as well as anyone with whom they come into contact.

The viruses are insidious - not visible (obviously), just hanging about looking for a juicy host, and often even a person who is already infected isn't yet aware of it (pre-symptomatic) and is out and about spreading it around to others. (Hence the ongoing advice about masks - I know that isn't a popular option but it can be highly effective).

So yeah, it's still the season to take at least the minimum precautions to protect one's health as well as to be kind to others by not spreading pestilence if you know you're packing germs. Hopefully, most people will at least be that considerate.

There is something in the air, indeed.

My colleagues who have been sick tell me that an urgent care center will test you for everything. That is how a colleague found out that he had Covid.
