I will Go and do The word of God is a great worth in my life. Nephi had to work to gain his testimony. God prepares a way for me to do things. His most powerful way to to keep the commandments of Jesus. Then the have a cool full page picture of Nephi holding the ready to chop off someone head. This is in the kids part of text. With a tile nearby that says The Holy Ghost will lead me as i seek to do the Lord's will. I can see some conflicting messages here. I spent many years teaching Primary and I remember a lesson about missionary work in one of the manuals for kids who were about four or five. It included the story of Ammon and cutting off the arms of robbers. Yep, extreme violence is a great missionary tool, kids.
Add a page showing Abraham ready to kill his kid because...god.
People should not wonder why someone harms their kid or does dumb stuff because they think God was down with it. Many of them simply took what they learned from church seriously.

If only they had stories like Jael and Sisera, or Ehud and Eglon as entire primary lessons.
