Even weirder than being an "influencer only" tour (whatever that means,) to me is the prohibition against taking purses into the temple. What exactly do they think might be stolen? Plus cell phones must be silenced and put away before entering, which seems against the influencer way of doing things.

But doesn't it sound hip?

Hildebrant and Franke are influencers. Maybe they'll come.

To be fair, I believe his accordion was discernibly out-of-tune; most cows have a very good sense of hitting the right notes, ya know.

It's a step up. Temples are usually full of effluencers.

That's why they're continually under repair.

Are they afraid people are going to steal the silverware in their purses?

That is a free marketing event. The influencers can take pictures in front of the temple. The influencers can give their testimonies share the gospel. You can't get nice pictures posed pictures with let's say screaming children in the background. Over 10 years ago while sitting in Relief Society the Relief Society president ask us to "be part of the I am a Mormon" campaign. That was before the word Mormon was a victory for Satan. The perfect Mormon lifestyle looks good from the outside but in my opinion is impossible to achieve.

I remember some of the people who took part in that were the first to say that they were not Mormon. Ironic, eh?

I think the purse thing is probably to do with their fear of people placing cameras etc in there.

If a woman cannot take a purse into the temple, how can she haul feminine hygiene product(s)?

But I walked through an open temple tour last year.

I did things in reverse. After walking onto the temple ground, the sister missionaries tried to coerce me to return to the stake building (where a temple video would be shown as well as don't use your cell phone or try to take pictures inside the temple). They did not confiscate my phone, but I did put it on silent before placing it back in my pocket. I saw other women carrying purses while on the tour. No visitors had a cell phone in hand.

They only requirement at the front door was to have people put on plastic booties over their shoes. And there was another set of people collecting the booties upon exiting the building.
